The following case studies are selected to help illustrate the flexibility the Boss Engine has in respects to both type of website deployment and graphic design differences.
UNICEF
Fun Facts.
- It has a shop where you can buy half a tonne of porridge
- You can donate to numerious causes instantly via credit card and UNICEF is able to manage those causes as it needs to in house.
About.
One of the best UNICEF sites in the world thanks to a stellar effort by DNA and UNICEF NZ which resulted in this fantastic site. It was a mammoth effort for all involved due to tight time frames and the large scope of the site and has resulted in a number of core new features for the Boss system. These included easy embedding and management of externally hosted video clips, express checkout, "Virtual" products and bubbling of page content to other pages.
Upper Hutt City
Fun Facts.
- Delivered on time and on budget.
- "Out of the box" means the software is not modified to perform its task. This is the case here.
- Runs on 6 different templates automatically.
About.
This site is a class act. Well constructed, loads of information, easy to navigate and a nice show case for the Upper Hutt area.
The scale of the site gave us a good opportunity to focus on the speed and responsiveness of parts of the console that were slowing under the weight which resulted in some spectacular improvements for those now editing the site.
It was with great pleasure that we saw the Boss.Framework not even flinch in handling the public end of the website.
Hazardco
Fun Facts.
- The Hazardco site supplies health and safety solutions to the Building Industry
- Builders can pre-pay for site packs and then order them as required.
About.
A reasonably highly customised instance of Boss was required for this complex but highly successful website for our friends at Hazardco. Great to see such a nicely executed site doing so well.
"The team at Verb have continually delivered consistent and brilliant support and the Boss software has allowed us to deploy in a highly efficient manner."Gavin Karl & Mark Potter.
Anti Fashion League
Fun Facts.
- Keep an eye on the cart as you're madly filling it up.
About.
After reviewing this site ourselves, there isn't really much left to say other than Rory and Leonard would be most disappointed if you didn't pay them a visit. While you're on this adorable site, don't forget to drop one of Rhondah Rhombus's gorgeous T's into your cart.
RidersHQ
Fun Facts.
- The best moto x site in New Zealand with just the nicest crew running it.
- This shop isn't just online - drop into their great store, Highway 1, Timaru.
About.
Our second showcase site, this really put our catalogue system through its paces with over 2500 images, a massive number of products, all entered and managed via the Boss.Console. We worked closely with the owners in improving and streamlining the work flows within the Console resulting in the famous "duplicate product" button and the Boss.Console v4 menu layout change.
Conception Clothing
Fun Facts.
- As part of our ongoing development, we struck a deal with the designer to tackle the entire construction of the site without us or a manual. We asked them to write down everything that was mildly confusing or that stumped them entirely. We are now putting that information to great use.
About.
Our first "go it alone" site by a designer and what a result. A full shopping cart site that exhibits some fine clothing for the expectant amongst us. A huge congratulations on both the site and the new arrival :-).
The Lanes
Fun Facts.
- Originally created under very tight deadlines this site is really starting to blossom.
- The javascript drop down menu is managed by the client using the easy drag and drop tree menu in the Boss.Console.
About.
It's the place to be in Wellington - if you're looking for a great night in the capital then check out this website.
The Games
Fun Facts.
- The game family was inspired by the happy families card game that was around when we were kids.
- The site sells absolutely no electronic board games.
- Number one on google.co.nz for "Board Games"
About.
Developed as a showcase site for the Boss shopping cart, thegames.co.nz is now the home of the adorable Mr and Mrs Game, who along with their two children attempt to review every game they have stocked.
This site is our old showcase and experimental site. It's the site that went from nowhere to number one on
google for the search term "Board Games" here in New Zealand - proving Boss's search engine friendliness. It has also been the key driving factor in a number of usability improvements we've made throughout the earlier stages of development on the Boss.Console.
